Fourth of July

Have you been enjoying the lazy days of summer? I can't believe July is almost here! I put this little dress on Miss Grace the other day and thought it would be perfect for the Fourth of July. I actually made this for Christmas time. Its called Peppermint Pie. Won't it be cute for a barbeque and fireworks?

What will your little one be wearing? There is still enough time to order this and have it in time for the fireworks!

Sweet Tart

I have new dress to share today! Remember the Victorian Chocolate Dress and matching flower clippie? Well here it is in pink. I had planned on calling it the Sweetheart dress but then I thought of a cute variation... Sweet Tart!

The dress in the picture was actually made for someone by request so we didn't get to keep it. Scarlett was a little jealous- she loves pink dresses! Now take a look at this dress.

Do you like it? I did a custom dress last year in the blue floral fabric. Its called Bloom and Grow by Riley Blake. I came across it again about a month ago and felt inspired. I love the way the dress turned out and wanted to share it with everyone. I really like working with this type of denim. Its very light weight and comfortable. If I can find more of the Riley Blake fabric I'll add this to the shop. Please tell me if you know where I can get more...

One week to go!

Its finally here! The last week of school! My days have been filled to overflowing since I started working at the school. Working with high school kids drains away my energy! Scarlett and I are ready for a break. She loved going to preschool but she's looking forward to doing all the fun things we used to do before we started school. Story time at the library, going to the mall, visiting friends, and going to the park - we save our trips to the park for after the sun goes down!

I am so looking forward to more sewing. As you may have noticed, I've made my shop a very, very, very part-time hobby. I'll still keep it at the hobby level but I'll be able to do more. So now I need more ideas for new dresses... Let me know what you would like to see at Grace Lane Dress Shop. Easter Weekend

We really enjoyed Easter this year! It was a long weekend. Our church planned a major Easter event for the day before Easter. We had Sunday school buses that went out all over the city to bring families to church for an Easter drama, lunch, cotton candy, and bounce houses. It was a lot of work but very exciting. We did our egg hunt on Saturday morning before the big event. Here are pictures of Scarlett in her "Easter dress" for Saturday. Sunday's dress was more fancy... as in the Fancy Fuchsia dress available in my shop. This denim dress is also available.

Did you hear about the earthquake along the border of Mexico and California on Sunday? Well, we felt it here. It was pretty amazing to have an earthquake here in Arizona!

I just added this little dress to the shop. I love it! Very bright and cheery! The idea came from a great client who requested this dress as a custom order. Thank you, Tiffany! As I was working on this dress a song kept popping into my head.
